David Kerper Sr., 84, of Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 31, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
David was the beloved husband of Patricia Kerper (née Kolisnyk) and a devoted father to his sons: David (Lori) Kerper, Steven (Jennifer) Kerper, and Phillip (Rebecca) Kerper. He was a proud grandfather to Justin, Shaye, Ally, Ryan, Lucy, Cole, Charlie, and Dean, and great-grandchildren Nolan and Taytum. He is also survived by his siblings Donald (Rita) Kerper, and his sister Loretta O’Brien. He was predeceased by his brother, James Kerper Jr.
David pursued his passion for photography at the Antonelli School of Photography in Philadelphia, attending the Broad and Race Street campus from September 1959 through February 1962. In 1963, he founded Kerper Studio Photography, a business he owned and operated for nearly five decades until his retirement in 2010.
Through his lens, David captured countless moments that became treasured memories for generations of families. His work was marked not only by technical skill but by patience, kindness, and an eye for genuine human connection.
The lens is still, but the memories remain in perfect focus.
Relatives and friends are invited to David’s Visitation on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, 9 am at St Genevieve’s, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am. Interment will be private and held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation” ( https://takeabreakfromcancer.org/ ).
David will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, his love for his family, and the legacy of moments he preserved so beautifully.
