Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lary Funeral Home - Greenville from Aug. 16 to Aug. 21, 2025.
Greenville - David Patrick Kerr, 67, was a beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully, August 16, 2025, surrounded but family and friends.
David Patrick Kerr was born on March 17, 1958, to John and Mildred Kerr. He grew up in Hudson, Massachusetts, and attended Assabet Valley Vocational Trade School in Marlboro, where he learned welding. Dave became highly skilled in his trade, working at shops across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
In 1998, Dave moved with his first wife, Deborah "Deb," and their family to
Greenville, Maine. Together they raised two sons, David "DJ" and Jason, along with Deb's daughter, April. Greenville gave Dave the chance to enjoy the outdoors, and he spent many days fly fishing with his brother Ken in the Rangeley, Greenville, and Rockwood areas. The two often tied their own flies, a craft they both enjoyed.
Over the years, Dave worked at several local businesses, including Fred's Body Shop on Lily Bay Road, the former IGA Store, Indian Hill, Rockwood General Store & Grill, Flatlanders, and the Black Frog, where he stayed until its closing.
Later in life, Dave reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Laura, and the two were married in August 2016. Together they made their home in Maine, where they shared a meaningful life built on companionship and faith. Dave's love for God was a steady presence in his life, and his marriage to Laura brought him peace and happiness in his later years.
Dave was known for being straightforward and full of spirit, never one to shy away from a good conversation. He had a lifelong love of animals and a steady faith in God that guided him throughout his life. To his family and friends, his presence was a true gift, and he will be remembered with gratitude and love.
He was predeceased by his parents, John (1930–2010) and Mildred "Milly" (1931–2017); his daughter-in-law, Jessica Kerr (1982-2025), wife of his son, David "DJ"; and their first son, Brennon Kerr (2014).
Dave is survived by his wife, Laura; brother, John Jr.; brother, Ken Gaucher and wife, June; sons, David "DJ" Kerr and Jason Kerr and stepdaughter April; as well as Laura's daughters, Carolynne and Meredith Williams; grandchildren, Liam, Regan, and Lexi; nephew, Dan Gaucher; and niece Meghan Gaucher. He will also be remembered by his close friend of over 50 years, Dave Gosselin and his wife, Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, donations may but made through Lori Ward to support pet rescues, a cause that mattered to Dave.
