David Kirscht Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Edina on Jul. 1, 2023.
David Allan Kirscht, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28th, 2023, surrounded by family. He was 84 years old. The family is deeply saddened by his death and relieved his battle with COPD is now over. David was born on June 10th, 1939.
David is survived by his brother John Kirscht (Mary), his children Rob Kirscht, Jim Kirscht and Ben Kirscht (Rachel); granddaughters Addison Kirscht and Kelsey Kirscht, grandsons Andrew Kirscht and Ian Kirscht, nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents Hiram and Marietta Kirscht.
David was born in Marshall, Minnesota. He later attended University of Minnesota for his undergraduate degree and Iowa State University for his graduate degree in Landscape Architecture. Most of his career, he owned and operated a landscape architecture and design business that later included golf course design. Once retired, he worked as a starter at Bearpath Golf & Country Club and in the garden department at Menards, both in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He deeply treasured his colleagues and the numerous friendships that he fostered over the span of his life.
David had a passion for the outdoors not only professionally, but personally. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often traveling with friends and family. The constants in David's life were his love for his three sons and the game of golf. Whether playing weekly at Meadowbrook Golf Course, chatting with members of Bearpath at the first tee, or playing with his three sons, he loved the game of golf.
Visitation Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10AM, followed by memorial service at 11AM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., Edina. Golf attire welcome. Private interment to follow. The Kirscht family would like to thank David's doctors and the Allina Hospice team. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First Tee Minnesota.
David will be forever missed.
