David M. Klausmeyer (90) died on March 24th, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 29, 1934. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 74 years Julie Klausmeyer, his children, Kathy Treybig and her husband Mark, Kevin and his wife Cindy, Greg and his previous wife Heather, grandchildren Michael and his wife Alyssa, Lauren, Haley, and Jake and his wife Courtney, and great grandson, Phoenix Elliott Klausmeyer, son of Michael and Alyssa. He was predeceased by his parents David Michael and V. Jane (Donnellan) Klausmeyer.
David lived in Indianapolis until graduating from Cathedral High School in 1952. He was a graduate of Georgetown University in 1955 with a Political Science degree and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was married to Julie Ann Johnson in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Indianapolis on October 29, 1955. They lived in Rocky River, Ohio and Rockville, Maryland before moving to Houston in 1970. He retired from a career in investment banking in 2000. While he had a successful, entrepreneurial career in business, his true love was his wife Julie, his family, his friends all over the world, and the Catholic Church. David had a huge heart and was very generous, supporting charities far too numerous to list.
Since his retirement David had served as a member of the national St. Vincent de Paul Society's Finance and Governance committee, and was Chair of the Audit Committee. He was appointed and served on the Strategic Planning Committee of the International Society of SVDP in Paris, France for several years. David was also a founding board member of the Catholic Endowment Foundation of Galveston-Houston.
David has been a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church for over 40 years where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the homebound and nursing homes, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Coordinator of the Perpetual Adoration of the Holy Eucharist.
A Rosary (optional) will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11740 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston on April 25th at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
A reception will follow from 12 to 1 p.m. in the community center. The burial will take place at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at approximately 1:30 p.m. (which is when the gates will be open) with a procession from the church, facilitated by the Houston Police Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Cecilia Conference, 11740 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX 77024.
