David Guy Larkins, 56, of Danielsville, Georgia, passed away at his home on November 13, 2025, while surrounded by his family. He was born on October 10, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Amasa Guy Larkins and Sharon Knight Larkins. David served his community as a police officer and sheriff’s deputy for 22 years until his retirement from law enforcement. Known for his friendliness and for never meeting a stranger, he loved his Family, God, Country and Georgia Bulldogs football. He also served faithfully in both church and community roles.
David is survived by his loving wife, Emily Pierce Larkins; his children, David Benjamin (Emily), Ereck Daniel (Rachel), Zachary Hamblin (Madison), Levi Michael (Emily), and Joshua Isaac Amasa (Jessica); his mother, Sharon Knight Larkins; his siblings, Cathi Larkins Palmer, LeeAnn Larkins Johnson, Elizabeth Ruth Larkins, and Jennifer Larkins Cantrell; and nine cherished grandchildren.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he held various leadership positions. He was a devoted student of the scriptures and frequently shared his testimony and insights at the Firm Foundation Expo in Utah, where he was invited to speak at several conferences on evidence for the Book of Mormon. A lifelong resident of Danielsville, he was a loyal friend to many and found joy in serving his community and working on his farm.
Visitation will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 706 Whitehead Road, Athens, GA 30606 with a memorial service to follow.
