David Arnold Larsen, born on May 29, 1943, in Clinton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Hudson, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 82 years old.

David was born in Clinton, WI to Dorothy and Arnold Larsen. They lived there for a few years before moving to Bruce, WI where his parents owned a restaurant. He would always joke his parents had to sell the restaurant because he and his 6 siblings ate all the food. They then moved to Canton, WI. He had wonderful memories of playing baseball at the school with all the children in the neighborhood and swimming in the creek down the road. They would hunt for some of their meals and worked at neighboring farms helping with dairy cows to harvesting potatoes.

After graduating from high school where he had to play on every sport team otherwise there wasn't one, David moved into the twin cities and went to Dunwoody Institute for programming. He was drafted during Vietnam and was stationed in New Jersey and taught programming. He then moved back to the twin cities and went to work at Control Data and then Sperry Univac.

Around this time he met his soon to be wife Dorothy Youngman. They moved to Hudson, WI and built a home. Here they raised their two daughters and enjoyed their pets Carmel and Muffy. They also belonged to a 500 card club, had a large garden and enjoyed time at their cabin in Trego, WI with family and friends.

David was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and golf, while at Sperry Univac he managed the golf league for several years. He looked forward to meeting friends for coffee and also helped out with the care of his grandchildren. David never knew a stranger; he had an uncanny ability to strike up conversations with anyone he met.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Larsen; daughters Holly Zillmer (Chris) and Stacy Schweitzer;grandchildren Anthony Zillmer, Ashley Zillmer, Nicole Zillmer, and Samantha Schweitzer; sisters Kathy Robarge and Patricia Moin; brother Jerry Larsen; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Neil Schweitzer; brothers Jim Larsen and Bob Larsen; sister Shirley Johnson; mother Dorothy Reuss Larsen; father Arnold Larsen.

David spent his final days at Red Cedar Canyon Apartments under the compassionate care of apartment and hospice staff-a kindness deeply appreciated by his family.
