David Lawrence Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Uht Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 11, 2026.
David J. Lawrence, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Wayne, Michigan, at the age of 72. Born on April 2, 1953, David's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, a passion for the great outdoors, and an illustrious career that made a lasting impact on those around him.

David is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 53 years, Martina, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Their enduring love was a testament to their commitment and mutual respect. He is also survived by his nieces Julie Perron and Karen Becker whom he loved like daughters, his sister Laura and her husband Michael. His companions, Rudy the dog and Tuna the neighborhood cat, will miss his gentle presence.

David's professional life was distinguished by his role as an engineer at Ford Motor Company. His innovative spirit and keen problem-solving skills contributed to numerous advancements within the automotive industry. David's colleagues respected him for his integrity and the generosity with which he shared his knowledge.

An avid fisherman, David found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His motorcycling adventures led him to discover the beauty of the open road, with the wind as his constant companion. The cabin up north in Hillman, Michigan, was David and Martina's cherished retreat, a place where they created countless memories surrounded by the serenity of the woods and the soothing sounds of the lake.

David's love for his family and friends was the cornerstone of his life. His selfless nature meant he was always the first to offer help or comfort to those in need. The words loving, generous, and selfless are the epitome of who David was and how he will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his passing, David is preceded by his father, Joseph Lawrence, and mother, Loretta Lawrence.

David's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the quiet strength that characterized his approach to life. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this remarkable man. David J. Lawrence's spirit will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the natural world he so deeply adored.
