David Wayne Lay, age 53 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at his home. David was born on December 4, 1956 in Campbell County, Tennessee to the late William and Thelma Raines Lay. David loved spending time with his family and friends. He cherished the time he spent with his daughter, Kayla. David also had a love for the outdoors. There wasn't anything he would rather do than go deer hunting or fishing. The morning David passed, his plans were to be hunting. David is survived by his: Wife....................................Pat Lay of Lake City Daughter............................Kayla Adkins of New River Step-Daughter...................Kim Alam of Jesup, Georgia Brother...............................Mark Lay of Lake City Step-Grandchildren...........Sameer and Aryain Alam of Jesup, Georgia Special Cousin..................Charles Tackett of Lake City Best Friend........................Ricky Foust of Lake City Mother-In-Law.....................Dorothy Harter The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. Mike Foust officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Friday, October 22, 2010 at 10:30AM and go in funeral procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City for a 11:00AM graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Holley Gamble Funeral Home in memory of David Wayne Lay. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements.

Mark, I am so sorry about David, you know how Frank and I felt about him and him about us,but I thank God for the things we got to share with him and to know he is at home now, I know he had been saved and will forever be at rest. God be with you, Pat and the rest of the family, because we all loved him.

You was my cousin, my friend, & for years my neighbor. We shared many good time, thru the laughter & the tears, we grew up more like brother & sister.. I love ya buddy & I'll miss you forever, but It not goodbye Its I'll see you again!
