David Estrada Ledesma Sr. passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on May 12, 2024.
He was born February of 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Leandro P. and Maria E. Ledesma. He met the love of his life, Maria Y. Prado, while attending church. They soon joined each other in matrimony on April 27th
1969.
A talented tradesman, he worked as a mechanic and handyman. His various skills and knowledge led him to working in his favorite position of all, at the Alamo in downtown San Antonio, where he finally retired. Known for his menudo, holiday meals, barbecue, and popcorn; he was the chef of the family functions. He loved his fishing trips to Corpus, listening to his favorite song by Sunny & the Sunliners, and other Oldies. David was always smiling, had a great sense of humor, and most importantly an unwavering love for his family. He loved his time with his great-grandchildren who knew him as Papo. He is
survived by his children: Cynthia A. Lozano, (Richard G.), Antonio Lozano, David E. Ledesma Jr, (Jeannette R.), grandchildren: Anthony L., (Cristina B.), Alexandra M., Jacob L., Joshua L., and Adriana L., (Jesus H.), great grandchildren:
Averie L., and Timothy L., brothers and sisters: Jesse, (Lucia), Samuel, (Rosa), Maria, (Gilbert), Socorro, (Robert), Joel, (Maria), as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leandro and Maria L., brothers Pablo, Primitivo, and Jose L.
Psalm 34:18
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and serves those who are crushed in spirit."
