David Lynn LeFever, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 18, 2024, just shy of his 74th birthday, at Story Point West. He was born on August 28, 1950, in Wolf Lake, to the late Dale and Imogene (Allman) LeFever. David was a proud lifelong resident of Churubusco. After graduating from Churubusco High School in 1969, he served in the United States Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. He married his love, Monica, on November 25, 1972, with whom he shared a love-filled marriage that would last for over five decades. He was a dedicated employee, beginning his career working for his grandfather, Cecil Allman, during high school until the spring of 1976, then as a truck driver for Schlatter and Kruse Hardware from 1976 -1992. He then drove long-haul for Sunrise from 1992 - 1997. From 1997 until his retirement in 2014, he drove for Kelly Box. David was a man of many passions, but his love for working on cars stood out, especially his 1928 front wheel drive race car, which he proudly displayed at shows in Bonneville, Miller's at Milwaukee, and Elkhart Lake. He was also an adventurer at heart, once spending four months traveling around the U.S. and Canada with his wife in the back of a truck. He is survived by his wife, Monica LeFever; his children, Terry (Danielle) LeFever and Laura (Jonathan) Fawbush; his brother, Gary (Elaine) LeFever; his grandchildren, Emma Fawbush, Annemarie LeFever, and William LeFever. A memorial service will take place at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to The Parkinson's Foundation or the Churubusco History Center. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
