Dave and I were flatmates in London during our semester abroad and hung around quite a bit. Lots of fun times and sorry to hear about his death.

Dave was one of the first people I met at Trinity. We became fast friends and eventually roommates and fraternity brothers. His gift was making people feel at ease. He also had this old yellow refrigerator that had graffiti all over it. I actually wrote a poem about it for a creative writing class. Semper Ubique, Dave. Love you, Brother.

I first met Dave way back in 2002 when at the time I was a National Account Rep for a Software Company here in Nashville and Dave was with Cambridge Trust. We developed a very good business relationship and eventually Cambridge Trust became a client of the company I worked for. I routinely visited Boston over the next 3 years and during that time, our relationship grew beyond business to becoming good friends.
As time passed on, Dave moved from Cambridge Trust out into the Private Asset Management and I recall one evening over dinner, Dave telling me that he was hoping to start his own firm as he was wanting to get out of the Corporate World. Ironically at the same time, I was preparing myself for the same move. We both recalled how our careers in Corporate America worked well for both of us, but we agreed it was time to get out on our own. Dave continued down the path of Wealth Management but I however, did a total 360 degree turn and became a Licensed General Contractor and Home Builder in late 2005.
Dave and I continued to keep in touch via e-mail, text messages and even occsional calls. When Jake got ready to head off to college, Dave would always give me a call when he was on his way to either see Jake or back home to DE usually calling me when he was passing Exit 9 on the NJ Turnpike which was the exit for my home growing up in New Brunswick. We would talk about golf or about our kids and what they had been up to.
I also recall Dave visiting Nashville back in 2006 right after we had built our 2nd custom home. He said with Gail and I at the home and we talked way into the night about how things had changed in our lives and how grateful we both were where life took us.
We talked so many times about getting together after then to play golf someplace fun, but our businesses kept us from ever doing that. Actually what I should have said was I'm to blame for not making that event happen. I should have been more proactive and simply booked the long weekend in Hilton Head or at TPC Jacksonville, or The Blue Monster at Doral CC in Miami. Thati will now always be the biggest regret I will have because I would have loved Dave to help imporve my golf swing. I never really knew he was that good of a golfer until I read his obituary, but then again, it doesn't surprise me. He was never one to talk about his accomplishments. He wanted to learn more about how I was doing and how my business and lifestyle was.
I never saw Dave mad or angry. He was always upbeat and positive. He had such great things to say about his blended family and of his loving wife Nancy. To say I am, like so may others, going to miss Dave would be an understatement. Although we had not seen each other face to face since that visit here to Nashville, in 2006, we talked and communicated frequently. I am certainly going to miss those talks and know in my heart, I will see him again when the Good Lord finally calls me home.
Rest in Peace my good friend and know that you have touched more lives down here than you will ever know and have helped those people for the better.
Your Buddy,
Joe

Dave was always a fun loving nephew and taken far too soon from us. Our thoughts and prayers are to his family. I know they miss him so much.

May he rest in peace. My prayers are for his many loved ones and friends. Dave and I had every class together in 10th grade. He was my school twin that year. Lots of fun. Kathy Welch
