David Neal Leonard, 75, of
Danville, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. David was born February 9, 1947, to the late Clifton Earl Leonard and the late Nancy Toler Jones.
David was of the Baptist faith, and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, George "Pete" Stevenson; sister-in-law, Joan Crumpton; nieces April Campbell (Scott), Sandra Higdon (WT), and Julie Spencer (Greg); nephews Stevie Stevenson and Lee Crumpton (Hill); and numerous great nieces and great nephews and a great-great nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jo Ann Crumpton Leonard; sister, Linda Carlene Lawson; brother, Danny Ray Leonard; niece, Leigh Ann Stevenson; sister-in-law, Katie Crumpton Stevenson; and brother-in-law, Danny Lee Crumpton.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 4401 Westover Dr.,
Danville, VA 24541 with Pastor Bob Yeaman officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, with American Legion Post 1097 providing military honors.
