David Curtis Leonard, 45 of Aberdeen, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 near Ripley, Ohio. He was born on December 7, 1979 in Maysville, Kentucky the son of Marty Edgington Spriggs of Ripley, Ohio and the late Albert Leonard. David was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents – John and Peggy (Brierly) Leonard and maternal grandmother – Rose G. (Curtis) Edgington.
David is survived by his wife – Sheena (Bowyer) Leonard; his mother – Marty Edgington Spriggs (Gerald) of Ripley, Ohio; step-mother – Cora Sue Leonard; brother – Joe Leonard (Regina) of Florence, Kentucky; five children – Julie Leonard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Xander Kamyszek of Michigan, Mathew Leonard (Katie) of Georgia, Sommer and Dylan Leonard of Aberdeen, Ohio; five grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. David was especially close to his Aunt Debbie and Grandma Rose, who he knew would always be there for him in many ways.
David was loved by many and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
David graduated from Ripley High School in 1998. He also graduated from Maysville Community and Technical College with a culinary arts degree. He was employed by several restaurants and also worked in manufacturing. David was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, which he inherited from his grandpa John. He loved his children and “goofing” around with them, taking them fishing in area creeks, ponds and riverbanks. David especially liked watching his kids play sports and often coached or refereed their games. He loved being outdoors and camping with his wife and kids. His dog Jazz was his constant companion.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor David Benjamin will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday.
