David "Tiny" Albert Lewis, age 86, formerly of Rogers and Albertville, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Goodyear, AZ at Home of Helping Hands Assisted Living.
He was born on December 3, 1937 in Elk River, MN, the son of Frederic and Lenore (Scherber) Lewis. On November 15, 1958, David and Marie Holland were joined in holy marriage in Dayton, MN. God blessed their marriage with four children.
David was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church prior to moving to Goodyear, AZ after Marie's death in 2022. He was a member of the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years and served as an officer for several years. He was also a member of the Rogers Community Club for many years.
David is survived by his children: daughter Julie (Ed) Hickey, sons Kevin (Jodi) Lewis, Brian (Nancy) Lewis, and Pat (Angela) Lewis; five grandchildren: Kelsie (Eric) Chuhanic, Derek Lewis, Miriah (Jake) Paulson, Ashley Lewis, and Hannah Lewis; two great-grandchildren: Ayden and Brooks Paulson; sister Luonne (Mike) Kennedy; brothers: Dennis (Rita) Lewis, Larry (Bonnie) Lewis, Joe (Linda) Lewis, Doug (Pat) Lewis, Mike (Barb) Lewis and Greg Lewis; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by parents Frederic and Lenore Lewis; sisters: Dolores Berning and Mary Rose Biegert; sister-in-law Martha Lewis; brothers-in-law Richard Biegert and Joseph Berning.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for David Lewis will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM prior to the Mass AT THE CHURCH. Please join the family for a luncheon following the Mass. Private family burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Dayton, MN following the luncheon.
We would like to give a special thanks to Janet Eagan for the great care and friendship she gave David while he was living with Julie and Ed in Arizona. We would like to also give a special thank you to the staff at Home of the Helping Hands Assisted Living and Hospice of the Valley for the care they provided for David in the transition of moving into their facility and in his final days. We truly appreciate their kindness and compassion.
