David G. Loewy

“It is with a great sadness that we, members of Team 5, announce the passing of David Loewy at the age of 69. David was born on August 19 of 1955; the son of Robert and Lila Loewy. David resided at the Brookview Road IRA located in Castleton, New York since 1998. David certainly enjoyed his solitude away from others, opting to have three checkers to keep him company. But those who knew David understood that his reclusiveness did not mean that he was unaware of what was going on around him; he always had his eyes and ears open, ready to spring into action if something appealed to him. David attended a Day Program, Brunswick Center Services, where he participated in various sensory activities and worked on joining group activities; he did much of the same at his home where he also showed interests in massages and music therapy. David leaves behind several siblings as well as his peers and staff alike that supported him at the Brookview Road SOIRA. David Loewy will be missed.

David Loewy will have a service this upcoming Thursday for 10am at ‘New Comer; please call the residence (Brookview Road) for location / directions. There will also be a small gathering held at the Brookview IRA after the service for family and friends.”
