David Leonard Lovelace, 52, of Florence was born on February 9, 1973 and passed away suddenly, Monday, December 8, 2025. Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be Friday, December 12, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Tom Smith and James Senn officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery.
David was a lifelong resident of Florence. He was an operator for the Lauderdale County solid waste department for 32 years.
Before David was old enough to go to school, he enjoyed going to the Central Volunteer fire department, later in life he became a member. He learned his firefighting skills from his firefighting family and his late father Chief Terry Lovelace. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting in Tennessee and watching Alabama Football. He loved his fur babies, Annabella, Ruger, and Grace. He thought of his coworkers as family and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
He is preceded in death by his father, Terry Allen Lovelace; grandparents, Grace and Tom Helton, Virginia and Grady Smith.
He is survived by his fiancé, Amanda Richey, and her daughter Cassidy; mother, Elaine Smith Lovelace; brothers, Kenneth Lovelace and Mike Lovelace (Charlotte); host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his brothers and sisters at the landfill and Central volunteer fire department.
Pallbearers will be Joel Brown, David Hale, Cleve Miles, Troy Rickard, Chris Rhodes, and Keith Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Hughes, Ricky Byrd, and past and present volunteer firemen.
