Obituary
David G. Marohn, age 78, of Houghton Lake, originally from down state Pontiac and formerly from Merritt passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at Munson Healthcare,Traverse City.
David was born on February 5, 1945 in Pontiac, Michigan to William and Jean (Gannon) Marohn. He owned and operated his own plumbing business for many years before retiring. David was married on August 11, 1984 in White Lake Twp. to Valerie (Hamblin) Marohn. He was a member of the Merritt-Butterfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He loved going to the Houghton Lake Senior Center where he met many new friends.
David is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; Valerie Marohn of Houghton Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Services for David will be conducted at the Merritt-Butterfield United Methodist Church on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at 11 am. The family will greet friends on Wednesday at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. In-lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Merritt-Butterfield United Methodist Church at 428 S. Merritt Rd., Merritt, Michigan 49667, Roscommon County Commission on Aging 2625 S. Townline Rd., Houghton Lake, Michigan 48629 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
