David Bryant May, age 61 of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1962 in Cincinnati, OH to Roger May and Judy (Whitt) Jones. David graduated in 1980 from Harrison/Diamond Oaks Vocational school where he specialized in Welding. He began his career at GE where he worked until he retired.
David has a son with his first wife Linda, Zachary May. His love and devotion to his son was unending, and will never die. David's love for his mother Judy was so strong. They were best friends and leaned on each other through life's challenges and hardships. David stayed with Judy to take care of her husband Art, who suffered from Alzheimers. After Art passed, David was so happy Judy found Larry. It gave him great joy to watch his mother find peace and happiness in a loving relationship.
David was an avid golfer and enjoyed his weekly golf league with his friends. His wife Balinda learned to golf so that she could share that love with him. Football was another one of his passions. The Bengals were his favorite team. He was so excited when they finally began to win and got so close to the Super Bowl. Of course, we cannot forget about Xavier. He was a tried and true fan. David also loved the water. He would take a dip in a pool every day. To him, there was nothing better than a swim to cool off after a long summer day.
David found his soulmate Balinda and married her during the later season of his life. They found each other through God's grace, and lived the best life either of them could have ever imagined. Their love of travel was mutual. Each year was a new adventure. California, Hawaii, traveling through Colorado to Yellowstone, Key West, frequent visits to Florida and Savannah Georgia to name a few of their wonderful adventures. They both shared the love of music and attended many concerts and festivals. David also liked to shop. He would even hold Balinda's purse with no complaint, because that was the kind of man David was. He was the perfect son, father, and husband. He was a wonderful Grampy to his two beautiful granddaughters Finlee and Lettie, and step-father to Joey and Alex. They loved him, and he loved them. He was loved by so many. His kindness, love and crooked smile will never be forgotten.
David is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Balinda May; beloved mother, Judy (Larry Snell) Jones; cherished son Zachary May; caring step-son, Joseph (Alex) Ferrara; cherished granddaughters, Finlee and Lettie Jane Ferrara; beloved grandmother, Opal Whitt, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Roger May; maternal grandfather, Johnnie Whitt; paternal grandparents, Prater (Vernie) May; cousins, Gymma Dyer and Lori Sue Adams Back, and many other special aunts, and uncles. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave. Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00PM at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will take place Friday, September 15, 2023 at 1:00PM at the Whitt Family Cemetery, 3625 Lick Creek Rd. Salyersville, KY 41465.
