DAVID JOSEPH MCCASLIN
JANUARY 8, 1972 – AUGUST 31, 2024
David Joseph McCaslin, 52, of Montgomery, TX, passed away suddenly on August 31, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones.
David, affectionately known as "Super Dave", was born on January 8, 1972 to Karen (Dryden) and Ronnie McCaslin in the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After David graduated from McCullough High School in 1990, he pursued a career in the commercial PE pipe and fittings industry.
David's career in the PE pipe industry spanned 25+ years holding inside and outside sales positions. David loved his job and was passionate about making sure the needs of his customers and vendors were always met. He was often named top salesman and took pride in this accomplishment. For many years, David worked a Saturday job at J&B Auto and Hardware and cherished the lifelong friends and family relationships made there.
David has two sons, Travis Sanders and Christopher McCaslin. David loved being a dad and was so proud of his boys. David and Christopher share the mechanic skills and enjoyed working on cars and four wheelers together.
David was a family first guy, and he loved his family well. He always had a smile on his face and a hand for helping out his family and friends. He took particular joy in making others laugh and sharing his memes on Facebook. David loved riding four wheelers, mudding, sporting events, concerts, fishing and time on the beach. One of his favorite past times were to spend the weekends on Crystal beach with Chris and Cayla and their dogs. Most recently, he loved spending time with his longtime friend Sandie Sherman and her family.
David developed his love of Jesus while attending the Lone Star Cowboy Church on early Sunday mornings in Montgomery, Texas. He said that he felt "God's arms around him always".
David was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie McCaslin; grandfather, E.E. (Stan) Standley; Grandmothers Phyllis Lake and Helen Standley; Uncles David Standley and Philip Marsh; Aunts Linda Rae and Mary Gregory. He is survived by his mother, Karen Dryden; his sons, Travis Sanders and Christopher McCaslin; Sisters, Veronica Mozell and Krystal Billingsly; Brothers, Eric Bonfiglio and Jerad (Katherine) McCaslin, Aunts, Joyce Cherms (Mark) and Patricia Collins and Uncle, Robert Standley; along with Nephews Ryan Davis and Charlie Mozell and several other nieces and nephews and numerous cousins that he loved very much.
Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home at 10129 FM1097 West, Willis, Texas, 77318 on September 9, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. Light food and refreshments will be served immediately following the service and we hope everyone will stay for a moment to share loving memories of David.
