David McCullough

My daughter and I were guests at the Lafayette Hotel when Mr McCullough and family gathered for the promotion of his book "Pioneers".
It was not only his book, but his beautiful personality that shown brightly.
Who will be the historians who follow? Surely he set a high bar.

I am truly saddened to learn of the death of David McCullough. His loss is momentous just as was the body of work he left behind. My condolences to any and all family members he may have left behind.

So saddened to her of this.
Just watched him on Book TV and have always admired him.

I'm so, so sorry for your family's loss of such a talented writer, scholar, and indeed a beautiful man who wrote elegantly about our country and its legacy of which he will forever be remembered. I have read numerous of his books and am saddened by his loss. My sympathy to his family, colleagues, and friends.

My sympathies to David and his family. He was my mentor in my historical research and encouraging. He mentored me via me reading his work. He is now at home with his wife Rosalee. I am sure he missed her. God bless!

David McCullough was a great historian and a national treasure who preserved a great deal of American History. He is irreplaceable and he will be missed. My condolences to everyone who knew him.
