David Alan McHenry, 56, of Sanford, Michigan, passed away on May 27, 2025. Born in Midland, Michigan, on October 13, 1968, David was a lifelong resident of the area.
He graduated from Meridian High School in 1988 and worked at Soaring Eagle Casino for 25 years. Outside of work, in his early years David enjoyed the peace and tradition of deer hunting. He also loved playing games-especially online with friends-and valued the connections and laughter those moments brought him. David will be remembered for his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the deep care he showed for those around him. He had a generous spirit, a love for the simple joys in life, and a heart that welcomed everyone.
David is outlived by his parents, Dennis and Donna McHenry, and his siblings: Dennis McHenry, Dawn Leonard and her husband Larry Leonard, and Darin McHenry. They will cherish his memory and miss him deeply. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A cremation has taken place per his wishes and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor David's memory are invited to make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
