David McMurray Obituary

Published by Porter Loring Mortuary McCullough on Nov. 14, 2004.
Born November 9, 1951 in Danville, Kentucky, he spent most of his childhood in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He graduated from Pascagoula High School and attended Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson, MS and graduated in 1977, receiving a Book Award for scholastic excellence. He completed the Radiology Residency Program at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX in 1981 and moved to San Antonio to become a partner with South Texas Radiology. For almost 28 years, he was married to Cynthia McMurray and together they had three children. He is survived by his wife Cynthia, his daughter, Sarah Elliott McMurray, and his son, Bradford Clark McMurray. He is also survived by a brother, Dr. John McMurray of Kingsport, TN; and two sisters, Janet Patterson of Hattiesburg, MS, and Susan Fleming of Chico, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Reverend Clark Walter McMurray and Elsie Jane Rigsby McMurray. David journeyed to heaven with his youngest son, Ben, on November 14, 2004. He was a member of University United Methodist Church. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and professionally associated with the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society, and a member in the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He was also a member of Oak Hills Country Club and Club Giraud. David loved the outdoors, being an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a great supporter of the arts and numerous community charities. His greatest love was for his family. Then I heard a voice from heaven say, Â"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.Â" Â"Yes,Â" says the Spirit, Â"they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow themÂ" Revelation 14:13

Classmate at MC; a brilliant guy and

good college friend. I remember the time in the freshman dorm when he created a steam bath for the shower

by turning all the hot faucets on.
