I woke up this morning thinking about our flight in N1670C from Alaska to Walla Walla and found myself laughing. When I woke I realized you were gone, I feel a huge loss thinking about your early passing. Thank you for your friendship, kindness, and belief. Miss you!!

David, I am very sorry to hear about your loss.
So early and so sad.
I have been respecting your own way of life, since I met you.
Thank you very much for your letting me see your world.
I still can't accept the sad fact.

The world lost a great friend, an incredibly talented guy who could and did do it all. I enjoyed our times at the lake/Smith's, in the Bay and in Seattle.

There were still plenty of adventures out there - you did not have to leave us, yet. I wish you clear skies up there - so long my brother.

Deepest sympathy to the family. Although we lose loved ones in death, God's promise of life everlasting still holds true. (John 3:16) May you find comfort in this precious hope.

David was our next door neighbor here in Seattle. He wasn't here too often since his work was in Alaska but we enjoyed seeing him arrive for a few weeks every now and then. It was great to catch up with him on his "other" life. It is sad for us to see his home now knowing he will not return. We send our deepest condolences to family and friends in AK. RIP David.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of this incredibly talented and well-liked man. What a tragic and painful loss... I am so sorry. It is truly impossible to comprehend the end of a loved one's life. May this truth bring you some comfort, as it has for me. "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put eternity in their [mankind's] heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Eternity is certainly in our hearts for a reason.

Such a tragic loss to such a great man! David would do anything for anyone. He was such a great human being! Dave, your Canadian and US friends and family will really miss you. I'll never forget my first camping trip with you and my brother over 35 years ago. We tried to scare you in the dark, but you heard us coming and totally scared us sleepless...lol. Hopefully, you and Sam (another great man) are enjoying time together again. Rest in Peace, David!

Though I did not know Dave as well as I would have liked, It saddened me to learn of this tragedy. Dave would always pop up in Bristol Bay, or at some airport, or just out for a morning walk on a crisp sunny Anchorage winter morning and he always greeted with his infectious smile, and positive outlook on life. A real loss for the Alaska aviation community and all those people fortunate enough to have known him.
Godspeed Dave and keep smiling.....

Too soon gone my friend. So much left that required your specific attention. A trip not made, cabin not built, another Bristol Bay season that needed to be fished.

A special person that I will never forget. Remembering a "end of fishing" season when you and Jay landed in Lake Clark and beached the C-180. The camaraderie you two shared as you came walking up the beech is something that will stick in my mind. My heart goes out to all of your family and friends that you mean so much to. You had so much life left and so many future plans. It is hard to let you go and believe you are gone. Tailwinds and Happy Landings David

David was such a kind, generous landlord and friend. My son negotiated the apartment for me and David told him he is a good son. We liked him so much that when my daughter moved to Seattle (after I moved back to Portland) she wanted to rent from him. I will for ever remember his last phone call to me just to reassure me that all was well between us. What a unique gem of a gentleman. We send the family our deep, sincere condolence.
