David Benjamin McRae of West Columbia, Tx age 78 went home to be with the Lord and reunite with his wife on February 6,2026 in West Columbia, TX. David was born September 30, 1947 in Laurel, Mississippi to the late Dr. Matthew Earl McRae and Barbaranelle Parker McRae. In 1968 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 6 years. In 1980 he went to work for Phillips 66 as a Chemist until retirement in 2003. He enjoyed many things but fast old cars, scuba diving and spending time with family and friends are just a few. He was a loved and active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Melinda Sue McRae and niece Julie Chapman.
He is survived by stepson Eric Tribble and wife Kelly, grandsons Garret and Dustin Tribble all of Brazoria. Sisters Frances Young and husband Bill of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Naomi Henley and husband Bill of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Mary Ella Johnson and husband Clay of Laurel, Mississippi. Along with a host of family members and longtime friends.
I would also like to thank IPH Hospice for the wonderful care that was given along with his wonderful team Karey Hopper, Tonya Vonminden, Cecelia George, Susana Garcia, Ruby Garcia Castillo, Gabi Vargas and Cheryl Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Eric Tribble, James Crouch, Garret Tribble, Randy Autenrieth, John Wittbold and Robbie Masters.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Kucera.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at C.T Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX 77486. Service will be Thursday, February 19,2026 at 10:00 A.M. also at C. T. Baker Funeral Home, Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.
