David McVey Obituary
David Eugene McVey, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2026.
He was born in Ames, Story, Iowa, on October 23, 1949. David was married to Cynthia Inman McVey. He had a career in carpentry.
Davis was a member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church and had a passion for spending every morning with our Father in prayer and reading the Word from the Bible that his earthly father passed down to him. Dave had a gift for intricately building historically accurate battleships. Many first-place ribbons were received from entering them in the State Fair of Texas over the years. Some of his work was already on display at Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls, MN, and that is where the rest of his collection will remain on display in his honor. He was an avid collector of antiques, learned and taught the art of Kendo, and had a heart for helping others in any way that he could.
David is survived by; children, Jonathan McVey of Sherman, TX, and Joshua and wife Ashley McVey of Bonham, TX; and grandchildren, Korban McVey and Zoie Quinn of Bonham, TX.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
The McVeys wish to extend their sincere thanks to Nanaw's Place in Denison, Texas.
