David L. Meade

David L. Meade, 71, most recently of Navarre, Ohio, died on November 14, 2025.
He was born on May 24, 1954, in Sandusky, Ohio. He grew up in Castalia, Ohio where he attended Margaretta Local Schools. He was a member of the Class of 1974.
David spent most of his career in public service. He completed the ER Doc Paramedic Training Program at Sandusky's Providence Hospital. He served several communities as well as a few private ambulance services in Ohio. David was also a former police officer, corrections officer, and firefighter around Ohio.
David spent 20 years as a 4-H advisor for a saddle horse club in Summit County. He spent time helping 4-Hers with their projects. He also helped the Summit County 4-H Saddle Horse Association run their program at the yearly fair and at the summer horse show series.
In recent years, David has shown his resilience while battling health issues.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Jean (Vielhaber) of Navarre; his father, Nelson G. L. Meade of Sandusky; brother, Kenneth (Sharon) of Dahlonega, GA; sister, Susan and brother, Timothy both of Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Robison) Meade and sister, Ruth Jean Meade.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Heitger Funeral Home - MASSILLON CHAPEL, 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio from 6 to 8 P.M.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary's Campus in Massillon at 11 A.M.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
