Obituary of David Robert Mexia Sr
David Mexia was born in Los Angeles CA. He lived most of his young childhood in Azusa CA with his father Federico (Lico) mother Consuelo (Connie) and 6 brothers, Manuel, Fred, John, Moses, Joey, Samuel and one sister, Irma. During his teenage years his family moved to Canoga Park when his mother remarried to Gene Walters and has two half-siblings Rosalyn and Gene Jr. It was in Canoga Park that he met his wife Ginny who passed away in 1991. They had four children Eileen, Kristina, David Jr. and Anthony. He is survived by his children and 13 grandchildren. He moved around the state and eventually ended up in Simi Valley after returning from Texas where he helped care for his elderly mother.
He worked almost his entire life as a self-employed construction worker doing cement and masonry which was the family business. He enjoyed passing along his knowledge to his son-in-law Eric who has taken on the profession.
David passed away peacefully after years of fighting liver and kidney disease.
