David "Daddy Dave" Fitzgerald, 69, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1956, in Limerick, Ireland. His family later immigrated to the Bronx, New York, and for the last 35 years he called Santa Fe, New Mexico, home-a place he loved deeply, where he built a life filled with family, friendship, and meaning.
Known affectionately as "Daddy Dave," his presence filled a room, and his heart and generosity were even bigger. He carried his Irish roots proudly and had the energy and toughness of the Bronx, a combination that shaped his humor, loyalty, and devotion to family.
Dave is survived by the love of his life, Yolanda Sena; his children, Julia Turner and her husband, Dave Bochanski, and Matthew Turner and his partner, Allie Ace, whom Dave loved as his own. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Debbie Fitzgerald; his daughter, Christina Quinton, and her husband, Chuck Quinton; and his beloved grandchildren, Braidon and Madison Warren.
Dave is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Fitzgerald and John Fitzgerald, and their families, including several nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Buddy, who always rode shotgun.
Dave was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Kimberly Fitzgerald; his parents, Thomas and Ann Veronica Fitzgerald; and his sister, Patricia Rogge, all of whom he held close in his heart.
Dave will be remembered for his strength, his larger-than-life personality, and the fierce love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the stories that will continue to be told, and the love he gave so freely.
Services to celebrate Dave's life will be held in June 2026, around what would have been his 70th birthday. Additional details will be shared with family and friends at a later time.
