David Mintz

I just found this ! David Mintz was starting out his company working from his garage in Fair Lawn I believe. I worked for a major local box company which provided him with the necessary boxes to pack and ship his product. It was very new, but he was behind on paying his bill to us. I didn't know of him or his product at the time, but his name was on the list to call for outstanding money. He kept saying to me that it was something very new and he needed a little more time to get his product on the market, but he promised very politely many times on that call to pay us soon after. As a fellow Jew I trusted him and he was true to his word. Soon after his product became a household name and I was able to tell my story with a good feeling that I called him for money when he was unknown, before he became a giant success !!

A wonderful business man - I use to shop at his take out store on Church Avenue in Brooklyn, or more precisely I would pick up food as per my moms order. His shopping bags said "I'm a Princess, I shop at Mintz" - this was in the 60's. His food was the best as was tofutti. It was a small store on the south side of Church Avenue near the subway station - and his food was always superior to Meal Mart.
