David L. Moerke, of St Francis, WI, passed away on March 02, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on Sept 4, 1952, in Milwaukee and preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Esther. Loving brother of John (Nancy), Mary (Jack) Bartley, Margaret (Ron) Rahnenfuehrer, Thomas (Diane). Remembered by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Dave served as a medic during the Vietnam war. After returning home he became a chemist at PPG and later at Custom Pak Products. Dave had a strong lifetime interest in astronomy. Along with members of his family and friends, Dave built a large observatory on the land he purchased in Kiel, where he entertained girl scouts, boy scouts, friends and family with breathtaking views of the sky through his telescope. Dave also committed his life to ensuring that his parents could live out their days in the family home in St. Francis.
A Memorial of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, at the site of Dave’s Observatory in Kiel, Wisconsin.
Dave, you have lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed. Now you will be reunited with Mom and Dad. Love you always.
A special thank you to the staff of Heritage Muskego and Badger Hospice for taking such good care of our brother Dave. God bless you all for your hard work and dedication. Also, thank you Scott for being a great friend to Dave.
