I Corinthians 15:51-52
"Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
David Keith Moody, 77, of Alto, took his heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Born in Hiawassee, Georgia, on May 4, 1948, he was a son of the late James Ray and Muriel Marie Kastner Moody. David proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later retired from Freudenberg N.O.K. after many years of dedicated service. He answered God's call to preach and faithfully pastored Eagle Fork Baptist Church in Hayesville, North Carolina, for several years. David had a passion for Southern Gospel music; he loved singing and playing the piano for The Master's Trio and was the founder of Habersham Harmony.
In his spare time, David enjoyed riding motorcycles, was always eager to learn new things, and was a devoted Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and Papa who cherished time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Keith Moody and Brent Moody.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Mahala Wade Moody; children, Derrick Moody (Lori), Alicia Moody Rogers (David), LaDon Shaw (Ricky), Laura Lee Burrell (Greg), and PJ Hulsey (Coral); special brother and friend, Jerry Lee Eller; brother, Jeffery Moody; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
