David Moore, 60, of Ames, passed away on January 28, 2025.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held by his family at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Ames Monument & Cremation Center is caring for David and his family.
David Ray Moore was born on February 2, 1964, to Donald and Darlene (Huffstutler) Moore. He grew up in Woodward and later earned his GED from Perry High School. Throughout his adult life he lived in Central Iowa and worked in the scrap metal business.
David loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, working on cars and canoeing down the river with kids and family. He enjoyed listening to music and watching TV shows such as Walker, Texas Ranger, among other old shows. He was a family man and enjoyed any time he could with the people he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his longtime companion and wife; Tammy Mitchell, children; James Moore, Corey Mitchell and Yvette Mitchell, siblings; Bill (Madonna) Moore, Steven (Beth) Moore, Larry Moore, Mary (Ron) Woodard, brothers-in-law; Ricky Mitchell and Rodney Mitchell, grandchildren; Jordan Seratt, Randi Sue Seratt, Grace Van Cannon, Jacey Sutton, Tyson Moore, Kasey Sutton, Matthew Thuney, Noah Thuney, Bentlei Helfer-Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; Donald and Darlene Moore, step mother; Katherine, grandma; Mary Leonard, grandpa Clark; step grandpa, Albert; and numerous aunts and uncles.
