David Forrest Mooring

David F. Mooring departed his earthly body on 1/4/26. He started his journey in 1952 when James C. and Bettye Jane Mooring welcomed him on Nov 27th. At 19, he married Dorothy Rogers, the love of his life. They eventually settled in Tiptonville, TN and raised two children. His death marks the end of an era for his friends and family, though we are happy he is no longer in pain and excited for his next adventure. The list of people he leaves behind is far too long, as is the list of those that preceded him in death.
Our father always left an impression on people- both good and bad- but you did remember him. Despite his ornery nature, his heart will be his lasting legacy. Sure, some will say it was his ability to clear a dance floor, his talent in making you laugh until your sides hurt, his creative cussing, his impromptu eagle tours, his cooking skills, his deep love of music, or his beautiful head of hair-all very impressive. However, his heart was by far the most amazing aspect of his life. When he loved, he loved hard. Friends and family were the most important things in his life, and there was no difference between the two. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, he made sure you knew it. Even in the rockiest parts of our relationship, there was never any doubt of his love for us. Never.
Moe, as he is often referred to, hated funerals. It was his wish that there not be one for him, so we will honor that request. Close family will gather at a future date to spread his ashes around Lake County, his home that he loved so deeply. There is no need for flowers, donations, or food. If you would like to honor his memory, be a good friend. Make food for someone in the community who is sick. Drop in for a visit with someone you haven't seen in a while. Most importantly, grab a frosty beverage, turn up your favorite music, and enjoy the simple things. Throw in some living room dancing on special occasions!
