It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved David Moya age 74 of Gatesville, who passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in Waco. David was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and a friend to so many.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
David was born in Hereford, Texas on July 6, 1949, and was raised by his grandparents, Roberto (Robert) and Luz (Lucy) Hernandez. He now joins his grandparents; mother, Lupe Hernandez Cerda; father, Angel Moya; father-in-law, Esse ‘Pete’ Cornett; aunts,Trini Hernandez Gamez, Dolores Hernandez Lewis; and his cousin-Delia Gamez, who are now welcoming him with open arms.
David leaves behind a family that loved him very much, his wife of 35 years, Teresa and their children, Courtney and wife, Carissa, John David (JD) and fiancée, Amanda; six grandchildren, Sofi, Jordan, Bryana, Xzavier, Jaeda and Aliviya.
David will also be missed by his brothers and sisters, John Moya and wife, Ligia, Frank Cerda, Steve Cerda and Koko, Angel Moya Jr., Rosemary Moya Casias, Richard Moya, Alice Moya Gomez, Debbie Moya Alvarez, Bobby Moya, and Jessie Moya and families.
David leaves behind many in-laws, out-laws and loving members of his extended family along with countless friends made along the way.
