**In Loving Memory of David W. Moye**
*July 24, 1943 – July 13, 2025*
David W. Moye, age 81, a resident of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born at home in Paris, Ohio on July 24, 1943, David's life was one marked by quiet strength, deep commitment to family, and a lifelong dedication to hard work and craftsmanship.
David graduated from Canton South High School in 1961, a proud achievement that marked the beginning of a long and fulfilling career. Just days after graduation, on August 1, 1961, David began his apprenticeship at the Timken Company, where he would go on to dedicate 34 years of his life as a highly skilled tool grinder (machinist). Known for his precision, dedication, and humble work ethic, David earned the respect of his coworkers and supervisors alike. His contributions at Timken reflected the heart of a man who took pride in his work and found purpose in his trade.
David was a man of enduring values-family, perseverance, and integrity guided his path through life. He was preceded in death by his father, Ceil Fred Moye; his mother, Ellen L. Carpenter; his half-sister, Debra "Debi" Strobel; and half-brother Harry Carpenter.
He is lovingly remembered by his surviving family: his sister Joyce Heppe, and brother Cecil Moye; half-brothers Timothy and Brian Carpenter. His long time companion Nora Curran held a special place in his heart until his final breath. David's proudest legacy, however, lies in the large and loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by his children: Robin Arntz, Rhonda (Andy) Hylton, Sarah Lowery, David (Kris) Moye-Gipp, Mary Greavu, Dennis (Stephanie) Moye, Gary (Tenile) Walters, Helen (Mike) Williams-Kail, and Sarah (Jeff) Kelly.
David's legacy continues in his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter-each of whom carries forward his spirit of perseverance, love, and quiet kindness. To them, he was more than a father and grandfather-he was a guiding light, a steady hand, and a source of endless warmth and support.
David's family wishes to express deep gratitude for the compassion and care shown by friends, neighbors, and caregivers during his final days. His memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons passed down, and the countless lives he touched through his steady presence and loving nature.
Services to honor and celebrate David's life have been entrusted to Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home, located at 2222 Fulton Road Northwest, Canton, Ohio.
Friends may call on the family beginning at **10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025**. The funeral service will immediately follow at **11:00 a.m.** at the same location. Pastor Tom Williams will be officiating the service, offering words of comfort and remembrance for a life so deeply cherished.
Inurnment of David's cremains will take place on August 16, 2025 (Time TBD) at Melscheimer Cemetery in Pike Township.
Though David's physical presence has passed from this world, his love, wisdom, and legacy endure. He will be dearly missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
