David Alan Mugfor

David Alan Mugfor passed peacefully on October 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Chicago on January 28, 1970, David was a beloved member of his family and community.
Dave is preceded in death by his mother and father, Sally Koltun Mugfor and David Mugfor and step-father Ron Wulf. He is survived by his beloved wife Hope, sons Jared (Lee) and Koltun, daughter Jordan, and brothers Marc and Todd.
Dave and Hope met while working in the restaurant industry. He took that training and the friends that they made to transition into the flooring industry as an outside sales representative. Dave came into his own with Peak Contract Flooring. He was so proud of his professional development and his ability to provide for his family whom he so selflessly and tirelessly loved and cared for.
To those who knew him well, Dave was an incredible host who loved good food and good wine even more. He will be remembered for his skills as a chef preparing delicious steaks and beautiful, tasty charcuterie boards. He was a golfer and loved NASCAR and his Miami Dolphins. He loved doing the neighborhood 4th of July fireworks for his community. David was never happier than in his role as husband and father. It was there that he excelled.
For many years he volunteered his time as the head timer for Collins Hill High School swim team and the Richland Waves summer swim team. His void will be felt deeply on the pool deck. Everyone knew his whistle.
The Richland Waves swim team held a special place in Dave's heart. It was his wish that no neighborhood child who wanted to swim be denied that opportunity due to economic need. In lieu of flowers, we are asking those who share his wish to contribute to the Richland Waves. The funds raised will be set aside to allow economic hardship applications to be funded.
A celebration of life will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church on November 16th, 2024 at 4 p.m. Family will receive guests in the church fellowship hall beginning at 3 p.m. Dave would not want this to be a somber occasion. His was a life well lived. Don't be afraid to wear some color.
