David Gerard Murray

David G. Murray passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 9, 2022 at the age of 69. He was born in Hicksville, NY on May 24, 1953.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Anne Marie Murray, and his brother-in-law, James Higgins. He is survived by his wife, Meanleak Wilkinson-Murray and her daughter Cheyenne Wilkinson, his children Jeremy Murray (Ternie) and Genevieve Paganini (Matthew), and grandchildren Brennan Murray, Brayden Murray, Maya Paganini, and Noah Paganini. He is also survived by his siblings Philip Murray Jr (Karen), Tom Murray (Marilyn), Kathleen Reid (Mark), Patricia O'Neill (Tim), Anne Marie Higgins, and many nieces and nephews.
Dave grew up in Long Island and Connecticut, and moved to Rockland County, NY with his family when he was 17 years old. He remained there for many years, raising his two children with his first wife, Sandra. He worked his entire career as a Maintenance Manager for Precision Valve before retiring in 2020.
Dave moved from New York to South Carolina in 2009, where he grew a large group of close friends and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities and traveling. It was there where he made a home with his wife, whom he married in May of 2022, and her daughter. He loved to do work around his house and yard with his wife. He was a carpenter and craftsman, building things for his home and even a deck for the backyard pool.
Anyone that knew Dave knew that his pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. His face would light up speaking about them and his most cherished role in life was that of "Grandpa".
Dave had a quick sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed teasing his siblings whenever he had the chance. He will be remembered by his unwavering strength and determination, his love for his family and zest for life.
A wake will be held at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 2pm-6pm.
