David Alan Neely, 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of Norman “Gene” and Mary Wilson Neely and was of Baptist faith. David enjoyed fixing all things and playing video games. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go camping. His grandchildren, who called him “Papa David” was his joy in life, he enjoyed taking them to QT for treats.
As a child, he would play games with his brother and sister, even scaring his sister as a joke.
David was a sales manager at Holder Electric, where he felt always supported and had many friends among his coworkers.
Along with his beloved parents, David is survived by a daughter, Hannah Neely (Daniel Gray Smith); a son, Curry Neely; sister, Dana McElroy; brother, Barry Neely (Beth); four grandchildren, Abigail Allysa Smith, Emily Scarlette Smith, Amya Harper Smith and Karma Gray Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by nephew, Brady Neely.
A graveside service will be held in Robinson Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Flowers will be accepted.
