The family of David Nelson, of New London, Wisconsin is saddened to announce his passing on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 67 years. Dave was born in Racine on November 27, 1957 to Robert and Arline (Lueneburg) Nelson. He married Luanne Etlicher on October 1, 1977.
Dave worked at Air Wisconsin as an aircraft mechanic for over 45 years. As a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, he was involved with the men's group and the food pantry. He loved gardening, especially in the church garden. Dave loved taking his family on trips across the country and the yearly family vacation to Arkansas. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He was a talented woodworker. He loved to learn, watching endless tutorials until he figured it out himself. Dave was a kind man who loved his children, adored his grandchildren, was a loving husband, and loved his dog Charlie. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Luanne, of 47 years; his mother, Arline; children, Elizabeth (Tomas) Ordonez, Andrew (Tessa) Nelson, Jessica (Joe Walesewicz) Nelson; grandchildren, Alice, Sofia, Shealynn, Emrey, June; and his brother, Dale (Kari) Nelson; along with numerous nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Robert; and mother-in-law, Alice.
A huge thank you to ThedaCare Cancer Center and Cherry Meadows Hospice, along with Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Portia Corbin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
