Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of David Wayne Noel, 67, who passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Lafayette.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Saturday from 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday morning.
Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Faith Calais and Kaitlyn Calais. Gift Bearers will Terius Reaux and Ja'niya Reaux.
Burial will follow at a later date at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
Born on February 9, 1958, in Lafayette, Louisiana, David was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
David's life was a tapestry of diverse experiences; he worked as a dedicated truck driver specializing in iron hauling-an occupation he truly loved. His earlier years saw him thriving in various roles, from cooking in local restaurants to working offshore and even contributing his talents at Evangeline Downs. No matter the job, David approached each task with unmatched dedication and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of a true jack of all trades.
David's greatest joy came from his family. His nurturing spirit and unwavering support made him a pillar in the lives of many. David adored his children and grandchildren and he was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand. His family and friends will remember him for his generosity and warmth; his legacy of kindness and selflessness will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Calais, Sadie Noel and Nevaeh Noel; sons, De'nigel Noel and David Calais, Jr.; girlfriend, Laura Alfred and her mom, Rebecca Alfred; step-children, Ra'niya Reaux, Ja'niya Reaux, Terius Reaux and Kizzy Calais; grandchildren, Keilee Clues and Harlee Rogers; brothers, Napoleon Noel, Jr. and Ernest Batiste (Gloria); sisters, Linda Livings (Gerald), Brenda Journet (Calvin), Patricia Joseph (Ricky) and Martha Calais (Herman); bonus siblings, Bernadine Noel (Joseph) and Roland Batiste (Michelle); godchildren, Kirk Noel, Faith Calais and Pamela Batiste; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon Noel and Georgia LeBlanc Batiste; step-father, Ernest Batiste; grandson, Terry Wayne Clues, Jr.; brothers, Linton Noel, Sr., Edward Noel, Sr., Joseph Felton Noel, Earl Noel, Sr., Willie Roy Noel, Sr., Michael Noel and Lee Allen Noel; and sisters, Juanita Phillips, Barbara Batiste and Betty Noel.
Pallbearers will be David Calais, Jr., De'nigel Noel, Scotty Journet, Jason Noel, Jr., Leland Phillips and Charles Murray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Noel, Kent Journet, Ernest Batiste, Napoleon Noel, Jr., and Kendall Journet.
