My sweet David Ray,
How you are missed to this day. Days like this bring back the memories of the excitement that I felt on hearing of your birth. You had to be the most beautiful little baby that I had ever seen. There was so much promise in that young face of yours, so much hope, so much love! You were more than a little nephew to this 10 1/2 year old girl! You were more like the little brother that I never had. We saw some hard times together and we saw some good times. Then came your little brothers. What a wonderful playmate and companion you were to them. You were so sweet and kind to them. Quiet and observant and willing to help me with them whenever I babysat all three of you. Where did our lives lead us to...different directions I know, but our minds and love were always as more like an older sister and little brother than a young aunt and little nephew knowing that the other was "there" if we need only to ask. Too much time wasted and lost that can never be replaced, but now, Sweet boy, you are with your beloved Mama and Papa and Daddy and Richard, the brother that you always had a special place in your heart for. David, there is nothing on this earth that could have ever replaced the feeling that my Mom and Dad had for their first ever grandchild, not even having a first granddaughter from me. You will ALWAYS be THE First, that one special one, THE grandson! Not that your brothers or Christopher or Felicia-Beth, Ashli or Angela weren't loved because they were. Thank you, my Sweet Nephew, for teaching Mom and Dad what it is to love a grandchild because you were their First and they taught me what a Grandmother's Love should be and what it is all about. I love you, Baby boy! Always and forever, Your Aunt Lollie
