David Houston Onstott, age 83, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born on May 22, 1940 in Amarillo, Texas to Sam Houston and Marie Onstott.
David married his high school sweetheart Robbie on May 22, 1958 and they had two daughters, Kim and Crystal. He loved boats and motorcycles his whole life and started out working on cars and transferred the love of working on cars to working on boats. He worked in the boating industry and opened his own business in the late 1970 where he built a successful boat dealership called The Boat Center at Lake Palestine. He rode motorcycles since before he was old enough to ride. Harley was his motorcycle of choice and he had many different bikes during his lifetime. Fishing was his passion. He owned several Ranger boats and spent many hours on the lake fishing with his grandsons creating many memories.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Houston and Maria Satterfield as well as his wife, Robbie Onstott and grandchild, Christopher Jerger.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim and husband Philip Allen and Crystal Driskill and partner Matt Smith, grandchildren, David Domm, Coyse Allen, Stephanie Sanich, Brittney Smith and Nathan Allen as well as many great grandchildren.
A visitation for David will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, Texas 75701. A a Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, Texas 75701. A burial will occur at Cathedral In The Pines, Tyler, Texas.
