MEREDITH ---- David Paquette, 86, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire.

Born on June 10, 1939, in Springfield, Massachusetts, David was the son of Richard R. and Ruth Hodge (Hill) Paquette.

David lived a full and independent life defined by dedication, mechanical skill, and deep love for family. In 1957, David proudly enlisted in the U.S. National Guard in Vermont, serving as a Private First Class. His natural mechanical aptitude and steady discipline paved the way for a long and accomplished aviation career. David honorably served in the United States Air Force from September of 1958 until August of 1962. In 1964, he began working for Western Airlines as a lead mechanic, continuing his service to the industry after Western was acquired by Delta Air Lines. Known for his meticulous work on jet engines and his ability to diagnose and repair complex systems, David earned his authorization as a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator-a distinction he carried with pride. He retired from Delta in the 1990s and made his home in New Hampshire.

Over the years, David lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, each place shaping him while he remained unmistakably himself-resourceful, hardworking, and unwavering in his integrity. He came from a generation that valued frugality, perseverance, and self-reliance, qualities he embodied throughout his life. He enjoyed visiting with family, staying connected with loved ones, and spending peaceful hours on his porch overlooking the lake. He remained supremely independent until the very end.

David was a beloved uncle whose steady presence, dependability, and subtle humor will be deeply missed. David will be remembered for his integrity, his mechanical mastery as an aircraft mechanic, his frugality, and the steadfast love he showed for his family. His presence will be forever cherished by all who knew him.

David was pre-deceased by his sister Barbara Lowe and niece Stephanie Eason-Poisson. He is survived by his niece and her husband Debra and Christian Zimmermann; his nephew and wife Michael and Kathy Eason; and his great-nephew Zachary Poisson. He is also survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews Jonathan Eason, Ashley Eason, Amy Eason, Zane Zimmermann, and Zoe Zimmermann.
