David Leon Parker, born December 3, 1946, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, David was a devoted family man who treasured the simple joys of life.
David was born in Dothan, AL and raised in Taylor, AL, where he developed a love for fishing, especially in the waters of Eufaula, AL. He enjoyed the game of golf and took great pride in maintaining a neat and tidy yard, finding peace and purpose in working outdoors.
After graduating from Auburn University and starting a family, he moved to Albany, GA where he worked as an accountant for Firestone Tire. After Firestone closed its Albany location, he transitioned to a fulfilling role as a financial manager for the Dougherty County School System. It was during his time here that he met his beloved wife, Jan Parker. They loved to go dancing in their younger years, which blossomed into a lifelong partnership, culminating in their marriage in 2001.
After his retirement, David and Jan moved to Valdosta, Georgia, embracing family life with warmth and devotion.
David's legacy is one of dedication, care, and a connection to family and nature. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his wife, Jan Parker, of Valdosta; daughters Stacey (Robin) Deland, of Albany, GA; Tara (James) Spivey, of Valdosta, GA; son Brad (Jennifer) Henningfeld of Doerun, GA; and his twin brother Tom (Mary) Parker of Montgomery, AL; as well as grandchildren Christian Deland, and Danielle (Anthony) Oliveira and James Spivey.
