David Wayne "Choc" Patterson

David Wayne "Choc" Patterson, a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather, and cousin, passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Choc dedicated 45 years of his life to the oilfield industry, spending the last 15 years with Lewis Energy. Known for his strong work ethic and kind heart, he made a lasting impact on those he worked with and the community he called home.
A passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a game and always cheered on his team with unwavering loyalty. Choc was loved and well-known by the people of Encinal, TX, where his warmth, humor, and friendship touched many lives.
His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Faye Patterson-Selby, sister, Leeatrice Selby, stepdaughter, Linette Jean Eisenman.
He is survived by his: wife, Maria Lourdes Mata-Patterson, son, David (Julie) Patterson, daughters: Misty Dawn Patterson & Eryn Nicole Patterson, stepchildren: Jose Luis Sanchez, Melissa Sanchez, Dolores (Luis Valdez) Sanchez, Adam (Rachel) Rodriguez, Abraham (Iris) Rodriguez, grandson: Christian Bryan Patterson, step grandchildren: Jayden Valdez, Derrick Valdez, Annabel Valdez, Adalyna Rodriguez, Phil Rodriguez, Anabell Rodriguez, Troy Rodriguez, Abraham Rodriguez, Luke Rodriguez, and Alex Rodriguez, brother, Joe Louis Robertson II, cousins: Victor Jackson & Meachelle Jackson, in laws: Jose Angel (Veronica) Mata, Maria Isabel (Jesus+) Silva, Juan Antonio (Melinda) Mata, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences at Hillside Funerals & Cremations on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 5 pm to 9 pm, where a rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
A cremation will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, sympathy cards are welcomed to the family.
