David A. Pedersen, 84, of South Kingstown, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna Pedersen. David was the loving husband of Monica Pedersen for 61 wonderful years.
David served four years in the U.S. Air Force before marrying Monica and starting their life together. He worked for United Technologies in Connecticut for his entire career and happily retired to his summer beach home in Rhode Island. He enjoyed all things around the salt water, including boating, fishing, clamming, and the beach. He was very active in his neighborhood association, repairing and rebuilding as needed.
David enjoyed helping others, volunteering at the Jonnycake Center of Wakefield and the URI Bay Campus in the technology department. He loved a good game of golf, food, family, and friends, and a great bargain hunt-always working a deal and saying, "I've got a coupon for that!"
Besides his wife, David is survived by his son, Eric, and wife Wendy of Montana; his daughter, Kristen, of Rhode Island; and his grandson, Travis, of Montana; along with many grand-dogs he loved. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis, and his wife, Colleen, of Connecticut, and his sister, Elise Thomson, and her husband, Kevin, of Connecticut, as well as many loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date this summer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Elderwood of Scallop Shell at Wakefield, 55 Scallop Shell Way, Wakefield, RI 02879.
