David Michael Petit

74, Appleton, passed away on Feb. 4, 2026. David was born in New London on August 2, 1951, to the late Glen and Ann (Rohan) Petit, the first of six children. He was a cook for many years at Fox Valley Technical College. David was a longtime member of Christ the Rock Church as well as a caregiver at Special Touch Disability camps throughout the country. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Packer fan and touched many lives through his volunteering.

David is survived by his two brothers: Frank (Sandy) Petit, Freedom and Alvin Petit, Manawa; a sister Marge Petit, New London; nieces and nephews: Hope (Jason) Oshefsky, Wausau, Steven Giesen, WI Rapids, Leslie (Tim) Walker, Appleton, Kari (Jeremy) Griesbach, Freedom and Ashley (Joe) Wiltzius, Oshkosh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Mary O'Howell and a brother Edward.

A Funeral Service for David will be held at 4 PM, Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Rev Kevin Kelly officiating. Friends may visit the family from 3 – 4 PM. Interment will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery, New London.
