David was born on October 19, 1959, in Kimball, Nebraska, to Lloyd and Virginia (Stahla) Pickett. He graduated from Chadron State College in 1997 with a degree in finance and enjoyed intertwining his interpersonal skills with numbers. David most recently worked for Kotaco Fuels even through his latest health battles.
He was known for his sharp wit and lighthearted humor. David was a lifelong learner and lover of people. His glass half full outlook encouraged others to smile, laugh, and to not take themselves too seriously. There was a joke for every occasion, and he was always there for friends and family in whatever way they needed. He cherished spending time with others and loved watching baseball.
Survivors include his two sons, Conner and Noah Pickett; mother, Virginia Pickett; brother, Rick Pickett; sister, Kim Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Pickett.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Miranda and his team at the Mayo Clinic. Their continuous efforts over the last five decades allowed David more time to continue serving his community and those in it.
