So sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Pitcher taught both my girls at Ross Corners and they both learned a lot and had great 3rd grade years. They loved his enthusiasm and I loved his dedication and kind disposition at all times. So sorry, I do not get the newspaper on a regular loss and was looking for another person in education whose children I went to school with. At any rate, Mr. Pitcher was a great, hardworking man, and an inspiration as well. God bless you all and may he be rejoicing with the Lord and his pom-poms. Gabrielle and Annalisa liked him very much. God bless you, again, and know he touched and will continue through memories, to touch and inspire many lives, including mine, as I am a teacher as well.

Our sincerest condolences to the family. "Mr. Pitcher" was a wonderful man. He taught me (David) fifth grade at RCCA, was the teacher under whom Sandy did student teaching, taught our three children, and later was a co-worker of Sandy at RCCA. We were blessed by his life and work. He got me started with golf at the Apalachin Golf Course when I was in high school, even finding cheap clubs to get me started. I could never hit a 5-wood in the fairway as well as he could. Among his many wonderful qualities, he also had an interesting sense of humor. One time after he had taken several of us golfing at Ely Park, he drove to a fast-food drive thru for late lunch. When he ordered fries with his burger, he was asked - "what kind of fries?" He quickly replied "potato" and then added the expected answer (small, medium, or large). Realizing this could be awkward when receiving the order, he said to us that the only way he could save face on this was to pretend somehow that he was not quite with it. The clerk recognized the humor also, and everyone got a good chuckle.
May God raise up more godly men like Mr. Pitcher who will have a profound influence on young lives for Christ.

I grew up with David and all of his brothers while I attended and his Dad pastored the Monterey Baptist Church. I thank the Lord for the memories I have of him and his family. May God give you peace and strength in these times knowing that one day we'll all be together with our Savior Jesus Christ.
