MOLINE-David Powell, 46, of Moline, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at home. A funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 6th Street, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday, December 18, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made in care of the family to assist with medical expenses, UnityPoint Health – Trinity Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
David was born on November 11, 1977 in Davenport, Iowa. He was adopted by Donald and Linda Louth Powell. David married Elizabeth "Liz" Miller on August 4, 2018 in Coal Valley, Illinois.
David worked as a sales consultant for Royal Publishing.
He was an avid fan of all Chicago sports, the Quad City Storm hockey team and the Iowa Hawkeyes. David loved to perform karaoke and also loved all kinds of music, especially oldies.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Liz Powell, Moline; children, Jacob Fetes, Dylan, Cody and Kellan Powell; step-children, Andrew (Kat) Kalinauskas and Kayla Kalinauskas; mother, Linda (Bill) Gerdes, Washington, IA; sisters, Erica (Grant) Venema, Geneseo, IL, Lori (Barry) Hitchcock, Athens, GA and Tonya Chrestensen, Burlington, IA; brothers, Randy (Sally) Powell, Akron, OH and Josh and Mike Chrestensen, both of Davenport, IA; step-brother, Rob Gerdes, Moultrie, GA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Mimi.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Donna Chrestensen, father, Donald Powell, sister, Casey Chrestensen, niece, Chance Chrestensen and mother-in-law, Marianne VanDam.

Liz my name is Monica and I am a bus driver. I am so so sorry to hear about your very nice husband. I enjoyed talking to him when he didn't have his ear buds in. Lol. You and I have talked quite a bit too when I was on the 10 and then the 20 before you guys moved. Again I am so sorry.
